Crankshaft pulley wobble – replace the whole crank?

Harmonic balancer (crank pulley) on my 2006 Mondeo 2.0 TDCI is wobbling slightly, belt squeals, slight vibration at idle. Keyway looks okay. Do I need a new crankshaft or just the pulley/damper? Shops say sometimes the snout is damaged.

Wobble is usually the rubber damper failing inside the pulley- common on Ford Duratorq engines after 150k+ km. Crank snout rarely damages unless pulley came loose and walked. Most times, just replace the pulley assembly (integrated damper). I swapped mine- pulled the old one with proper puller, checked snout for scoring (clean), torqued new one to spec with angle. Got a quality replacement pulley from https://elartcom.eu/categories/engine-block-and-crankshaft-141 - they stock crankshaft pulleys and related hardware for many Ford models. New one balanced perfectly, no more vibration or squeal, belt runs true. Much smoother idle. If snout was keyed badly, they'd have crank options too, but 9/10 it's the pulley. Their page has good selection- filter by engine to avoid wrong diameter or bolt pattern.
